WithinReach is Hiring a HMG Network Manager!

Job Title:  Help Me Grow Network Manager

Organization:  WithinReach

Date of Description:  July 21, 2020

WithinReach makes it easier for Washington families to navigate complex health and social service systems and connect with the resources they need to be healthy and safe. We work one-on-one with people – in person, over the phone and online – to identify their goals and provide them with immediate support that is close to home. WithinReach also works with partners, providers and policymakers in a variety of ways to prioritize families and children. We are focused on improving access to resources and support because we believe all families and children benefit from holistic and comprehensive information to navigate health, food, and early childhood systems with success.

Our team is a mix of smart and purpose-driven professionals. We are change makers, working to build healthy, equitable, vibrant communities. We believe that we can only do our jobs well by learning about and reflecting the people we serve through workforce and leadership development and by addressing and seeking to identify and reduce the system and access barriers that contribute to structural inequities. By doing so, we are able to create meaningful change for families and communities.

High Level Position Summary:

Help Me Grow is a national model focused on facilitating optimal growth and development for children to thrive to their full potential. The framework recognizes the benefit of existing programs, and emphasizes ongoing assessment and evaluation to improve coordination, collaboration, and linkage across early childhood systems. WithinReach is the state affiliate of Help Me Grow and works with a growing network of community partners across the state to connect and maintain a resource grid of information and supports. The resource grid design is rooted in addressing the social determinants of health, and embeds racial equity principles and strategies throughout its development to improve overall health and well-being for Washington families.

We are seeking a Help Me Grow Network Manager who will be responsive to the holistic needs of partners at varying stages of exploration and implementation of the model. Pillars of the Help Me Grow model include: community engagement with families and community partners, child health provider partnership, data and evaluation, and coordinated access point(s).

The team convenes a network of cross-sector partners with shared commitment to improving early childhood services and family support with a focus on identifying gaps and opportunities to reach families furthest from opportunity. Existing and potential partners include: early learning coalitions, community-based organizations, public health, government agencies, tribal entities, families and caregivers, policy and advocacy groups, social work, and researchers. We seek to engage providers and professionals from multiple disciplines through shared learning opportunities and support to ensure the successful design and implementation of Help Me Grow.

The team actively promotes systems change at the practice and policy level. Current systems change efforts include: embedding racial equity principles and strategies in the design process, creation of a care coordination model locally that will support families accessing the resource grid with customized support, and data and evaluation planning.

The optimal candidate will have some combination of lived experience and/or demonstrated experience in successfully building strong relationships with communities of diverse cultures and identities including, but not limited to: racial, economic, ethnic, language, gender, sexual orientation, and/or immigration status. This team interfaces with health, social service, and early learning providers. While this position does not provide direct service to families, the HMG Network manager will facilitate integration of family and caregiver voice in the expansion, implementation, and quality improvement of Help Me Grow and early childhood efforts.
